When it comes to printing with XP, particularly images,
some strange things happen about halfway in. There are
two main ones:
1. At some point, close to the halfway marker, it starts
printing thousands of random ASCII characters that match
the hex values of the bitmap.
2. The most common thing that occurs is with just about
anything printable. About halfway in, as stated above,
the printer suddenly stops printing and says that an error
occured. Each time someone keeps printing this same
document after clearing the error, it errors again at
close to the same point. Restarting the system is the
best thing to solve this as it seems. Upon the full
bootup process finishes, the document is immediately
called up again and printed. Sometimes it goes, sometimes
the same error occurs.
What's going on here? We've tried two different XP
compatible printers and they both have the exact same
symptoms as stated above.
