Highlighting Text Issue IE 6

Hello

I am a developer and I have an issue with a client site you cant highlight
text on this page http://www.cans.org.uk/index.php?id=37 in IE6. Any reason
why?

I can highlight text on the page, so it's not the page per se. Can the
client highlight text on other pages?

There's something seriously wrong with this page. When I retrieve it, the
page load appears to be complete but never quite finishes. The hourglass
cursor blinks at a farily high rate, but nothing seems to be going on.
This continues until I attempt to highlight some text (sometimes takes
more than one try) and then stops. After that, page behaves normally.

IE6 SP1 on Win 2K SP4,
