When I try to highlight duplicate entries A4 and A5 from the following
list using c-pearson's famous formula

=IF(COUNTIF(Range1, A1)>1,TRUE,FALSE)

it returns the error "#NAME?" in column B (see below). Even so when I
use the other formulas.

A B
1 ACE11546_I_V01.txt #NAME?
2 ACE11546_I_V07.txt #NAME?
3 ACE11546_I_V10.txt #NAME?
4 ACO12437_NL_V01.txt #NAME?
5 ACO12437_NL_V01.txt #NAME?
6 ACO12437_NL_V07.txt #NAME?
7 ACO12437_NL_V10.txt #NAME?

Excel reports an invalid name in the range.

Am I doing anything wrong here ?????

Range1 must be a named range $A$1:$A$7 or just enter $A$1:$A$7 in its place.

Hi Gord,

Thanks for your suggestion. The program still returns the same error
though. If you would have any other ideas I would appreciate it.

Hugo.
