Hi everybody!

Here's the annoying thing: I used to have Windows 98 and when you
clicked a link, say, in Internet Explorer with the right mouse button,
there used to be these little squares around the exact link. The same
happened when you clicked some icon in Windows once - it was both
highlighted and these squares were always indicating the exact size of
the link.
My question is: how do you enable these little squares around the link
in Windows XP because XP only provides a colour highlight (without the
squares).

Maybe I should set sth in the registry ???

Thanks in advance.

I asked this same question until I was blue in the face. No-one was able to
help me in the windows XP help & support newsgroup or in other places for
weeks and weeks until one day some nice kind man dropped me an e-mail with
the solution to the problem. I was beginning to think that the little
dotted box was only a characteristic of WIN 98, and wasn't an option with
XP.

Anyway, here's what you need to do:

Right-click on your desktop, select Properties.
Click on Appearance, then Effects.
Uncheck the box "Hide underlined letters for keyboard navigation."

That should do the trick.
