Don't believe it's related to the number of messages we have a user experiencing the same problem the have over 1500 and the behavior is random.....

Please be aware that this "egghead cafe" is just a front for a global usenet
newsgroup. You would be far better off using a proper news reader which
would allow you to quote the post you are replying to, and would
automatically insert "re:" in the subject of your reply.
