Highlight/Color Not Showing

I emailed a Word document to a friend in which a number of words had
been highlighted in yellow throughout the document. She is unable to
see the yellow highlighting at all. I'm thinking that she may have a
setting turned off somewhere that might cause this, although it
doesn't make sense to me. Can someone help, please -- many thanks.

Which version of Word is your friend using? Is there a colour printer
installed and set as Windows default? How did you add the highlights?

I don't know what version she is using - I will find that out. There
is a color printer installed and set as default. Highlights were
added with the Highlight tool on the Formatting toolbar.

I think I may have found the setting she has missing or not set --
there is a window in Tools/Options/View - that has a checkbox for
"Show" Highlight. We are going to try that.
