Higher framerate for video

I'm working on a project that has a two computers. One is remotely connected
to for maintances and to retrieve video from. I had originally had a
wireless link between them, but I wanted to get a faster frame rate form the
steaming video, so I installed a 100MB Ethernet line. I still can't notice
much difference between the two. Do I need to go to a GB line or is there a
cap on the remote desktoping software? If so, is there way to do this a
differetn way or any other software that will support it?

Playing video OVER a remote desktop (or any remote control GUI scenario) is
not the recommended method.
Mapping the drive(s) or creating web streams *is*.

If you are saying you do have the drives mapped and are playing the video on
the local machine but pulling it over the network from the remote machine -
how are the video files in question "encoded"?

How do you create Web Streams?

I usually connect to the host on my LAN with RDP but when I want to watch a
video e-mail or the latest news I have to copy the file or url to the local
client computer to view. What is the best way of doing this?

Any help would be appreciated!
