I've been using the desktop shortcut to toggle to High Contrast and
back, but somehow I can't find out how to stop the following alert
coming up when turning HighContrast on:

===========================
HighContrast

Pressing the left SHIFT, left ALT, and PRINT SCREEN keys turns on High
Contrast. High Contrast improves readability to people with visual
impairments by applying a special system color scheme and font size.

To keep High Contrast on click OK.
To cancel High Contrast click Cancel.
To deactivate the key combination to High Contrast, click Settings

OK Cancel Settings
===========================

I suspect the problem has to do with the

Accessibility / General / Notification
[] Give warning message when turning feature on

: it does not make any difference when you uncheck it, while when you
uncheck

[] Make a sound when turning a feature on or off

it stops making sounds. I did not have this problem with Windows 98.

when you get the alert click on the settings accessiblity options tab shows
up go to general and deselect "give warning message when turning a feature
on" by disabling that u can remove the alert to enable the alert back go to
control panel > accessibility options. u can also disable the peep sound
too.

When I got the alert I clicked Settings / General, but there the
notification:

[] Give warning message when turning feature on

was already unselected. I clicked OK, but the problem remains the same.
How can I make the warning message feature work? -emf
