I'm a video cameraman and on a regular basis need to send short clips of promotional video to an agency overseas. Sometimes a few seconds of the video is broadcast on TV. Currently I courier the footage by tape but would like to see whether it's possible to FTP it to the agency's web server.
However, I'm worried that if I download the footage onto my PC and encode it with Windows Movie Maker using XP Home edition, the technical quality of the encoded video is not of a high-enough standard. This is because I believe Movie Maker only allows the user to encode the video at a relatively low bit rate. From what I understand, I need to encode at 4Mbps minimum. Is this possible please with Windows Media technology and, if so, where can I find the necessary software?
