high pitched noise :)

whenever a x800gto card goes into 3d mode there is a high pitched noise
coming form the video card pcb...in 3dmark in cpu tests, it also emmits
a chirping sounds, almost like hdd, but higher...it makes noise
synchronized with the framerate...the only time it stops is when i lower
the core clock form default 400 to 300 or lower...what can that noise be
coming from...the card is brand new, and works apart from the saound
issue, without any problems...also i have tried a different motherboard
and a different PSU

Whatever that is, it doesn't sound right. If the card is brand new, take it
back and exchange it for another one. Don't bother trying to mess with
fixes.

yeah thanks...it is probably something that regulates the power to the
core, since it dissapears when i downclock
 
Turn off your speakers ... all the way OFF. Good speakers
can pick up that card squeal. I think there's something on the
web about it. If that is it, post on the Far Cry disscussion
board in the Tech section. I read about it there last year.
