I have some questions concerning Server 2003. I am about to install the
software on two computers in an attempt to create a cluster. My main goal is
to obtain the High Performance Computing (HPC). Here are my questions:
Why do I need two NIC cards in these servers? What does this do?
To achieve the (HPC), do I need to purchase additional software? I
understand there's a Beta Version (2).
Should I keep these two servers on thier own router? The only reason I
would even suggest this is to keep all the cables simple. I have a router
with 5 ports. Two for each server and one to connect to the network.
Finally. Is there a book that you would recommend to better understand all
this? I've looked at quite a few through Amazon. Every time I think I have
"the one" I start to read the reviews. It stops me in my tracks. I'll have
to get something eventually. I would like to see a book that would detail
the layout as well as the system requirements.
Thank you in advance for any help.
