I have a very high end workstation with all new components.

Asus P5WDG2 WS Professional - firware version 408
Dual Core Extreme x6800 - 2 gb kingston 1066 Mhz ddr2
ATI - 1950 pro video
Adaptec 39320 scsi Controller with seagate Cheetah 15K 148 gb disk
Two Plextor 755-SA sata dvds - using the onboard SATA controller unde IDE
emulation. Both are set as Masters.

I can not get the Vista RTM (32 bit or 64 bit) to install to save my life.
I've worked on this for three days without stopping. The error looks exactly
like the one decribed here:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/925481/en-us

Only there are no other uninitalized hardrives. I have used Vista's cmd.exe
and Diskpart and have initialized and partitioned this scsi in everyway
imaginable and it has done no good. I have formatted primary partitions to
use the entire disk and tried other parition schemes.

Please help

Have you found a vista driver for the adptec scsi card which will be needed
to be loaded during install, there will be a window to select hardrive and
an option to "load driver", this is where the adaptec driver will need
loaded. No idea if there is a Vista Adaptec driver though.

This may help though I don't have a controller such as yours

To the best of my knowledge the driver is included on the Vista DVD according
to adpatec and I've checked also using Vista's cmd.exe and DIR.

adu3 (whatever is there) ...also if there was no driver... I couldn't do
the formating and partitioning that I have some because they would require
the driver.
It's there and that all seems to be working fine.

I believe this is some test made by VIsta going awry.
