I have an Asus mobo with high definition sound integrated.
When I try to install the drivers from the CD or Asus website, the
installation works for about 90% then it fails.
I get a message saying configuration is incorrect.
Can anyone help?
Thanks

Model of motherboard ?

Exact error message text ? Is it exactly "configuration is incorrect" ?

For HDAudio, UAA is a prerequisite, and would normally be installed
by the HDAudio installer. (In other words, something like KB888111 is
bundled with the audio installer, and it installs first. Then the
RealTek or other audio driver installs. It may have something to do
with UAA not working right. Have a look in the install folder, and
see if you can spot KB888111XPSP2 or something similar. There may be
different versions, depending on what service pack level your
WinXP is at.)
