Hello
We have an IBM Netfinity 5000 server (Dual PIII 500 Mhz CPU, 1 GB RAM),
installed with Win2000 Standard Server SP4 and Exchange 2000 Enterprise SP3
with and about 200 mailboxes.
CPU is constantly 50-60%, even when all Exchange, anti-virus, spam and other
services are stopped.
With Process Explorer we found out that "Interrupts" are taking up this CPU
usage, even while System Idle is 98-99%. It is quite strange, becasue
"Interrupts" that can only be seen with this 3rd party utility 'Process
Explorer' are constantly using about 45% of server's CPU.
We tried to restart server, after then CPU was normal, using about max 10%,
but after a few hours it grew back to min 50% and staying at that number.
(again 'Interrupts' went back from 0% to 45-47% of CPU usage).
Does anyone have any solution? Can it be hardware? I was trying to find
solutions also in Exchange forums, but they all agree that this is not
'Exchange related problem'.
Regards
