Hiding the taskbar

I have chacked the autohide option for the taskbar. When it hides there is a
thick line (2px wide). How can I completely hide the taskbar? I can use
Regedit or another utility if needed.

Thank You, Kelly, but I don't think that I need the repair tool.
My task-bar is not broken. It's set to auto-hide and shrink into a thick
line when not used.
[x] Auto hide the taskbar

I measured the line with Photoshop: Width = 2 px.
I wanted to enjoy the full beauty of my desktop wallpaper.
I have no desktop icons. It's just that the task-bar is bright and the
wallpaper dark, so there is a high contrast between them and that is taking
my sight off the wallpaper.

I want either to shrink the taskbar to 0 px or to make it 100% transparent,
so that it is invisible when not used and the only think I see is the
wallpaper.

Future tip about the task-bar:
Moving the task-bar in the top of Your screen will make it near to Your
mouse :-)
Have You mentioned that in the most time Your mouse is in the upper half of
the screen?

You need to put the mouse over it to unhide it. Thats how programs get messages via their window (which is why any program that has to listen to the system needs a window, even if totally hidden and never shown). The taskbar will not be able to respond unless you can put the mouse over it.

Well, the Language bar supports transparency. Can I make the task-bar
transparent when inactive? It will still have a window to fire the event
(onmouseover or onmouseenter), but it will not be visible or it will be
half-visible. I can program the desired behavior inside a HTML page with
little JScript.

Well it CAN be transparent but you'll have to do all the programming. Why don't you look at programs like windows blinds at www.stardock.com who do things to the shell that may include this.
