hi there,

is there anything that i can set in the registry (or otherwise) to hide this
icon?
thanks,
Paul

While it's possible to hide many settings applets by adding a string
registry value called Redirect beneath the appropriate key (e.g.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\Beam) the Remove Programs item doesn't have
a key, and adding keys for RemovePrograms or Remove Programs doesn't have
any effect.

If your intention is not to allow handheld user to uninstall your
application or the dependencies, try using WCELoad.exe with /
nouninstall option while installing the CAB files.

Hi Arun,

yeh that could be an idea i guess, by hiding it from the add/remove programs
list. I will consider that one too.
thanks,
Paul

Hi Peter,

yes thats why i specifically asked, as i managed to hide the "Clear Storage"
button by changing the Group value to something like 999 and it is removed
from the Settings tab.

regards,
Paul
