Is there any way to hide certain icons for shortcuts on the desktop.
I want to specifically hide shortcuts which are used to activate
Alt key accelerators. These are automatically kicked off by the
shortcuts when the key sequences are entered from the keyboard.
My testing shows these key accelerators only work from shortcuts
on the desktop, but since I never directly click on them, they are
taking up valuable space on my desktop.

Key accelerators also work from shortcuts in the Start Menu.
Move those shortcuts from your desktop to the Start Menu.
