Hiding Journal and Task from "All Folders" list

Further to the post at:

http://www.microsoft.com/office/com...date&mid=1be2164c-45e6-483a-a471-7bdd7f8f3946

When in Outlook 2007, in the Folder List View - clarified as:
- Under the Menu, in the first pane to the left (starting from the top)
- You will see "Folder List" in large dark blue writing
- Underneath, you will see "All Folders"
- Underneath you will see "All Outlook Items" (I think this is only when you
have Desktop Search, although it may always be there)
- Underneath, you have "Mailbox - XXXX" (where XXX is the name of your mailbox
- Underneath, you have your items, "Calendar, Contacts, Deleted Items.. etc"

It is at this level that I would like to hide the Journal and Tasks.

Is this possible???

Thank you for the speedy response. Of course, this is not what I wanted to
hear. Is there any way that I can make a formal request to Micrsofot to
change this behaviour? Quite simply, in an environment whereby we don't want
to use certain features (or in this case, folders) of a particular product,
we should be able to get them out of our way.

You can make a suggestion in this newsgroup for other users to vote on
(requires the Microsoft web inteface of this newsgroup, Windows Mail or
Windows Live Mail Desktop). For a formal request you should contact
Microsoft directly.

FWIW: I hardly ever use the Folder List Navigation but usually use the
Navigation Pane buttons to switch to Contacts, Calendar, etc... Saves me
from searching for the correct folder ;-)

I really appreciate your time. I will try to setup this 'vote' as you
suggest. I've only just signed on here today.

The reason why I use the folder list is because I am constantly working with
my office's "Public Folders" (of which we have hundreds) and the 'folder real
estate' if you wish to call it is of utmost importance to us. Even allowing
our users to have access to one more folder on the screen (that we use) will
provide great efficiency gains for us.

Yes, I've requested a separate Public Folder Navigation but that is not
going to happen; public folders are going to be replaced with new (various
combined) technologies so enjoy them while you can. Email and document
management will be (finally!) more integrated together.

You can add a Public Folder to the Favorite Folders section in the Mail
Navigation. To do this first add the Public Folder to your Public Folder
Favorites and from there you can add it to Favorite Folders by right
clicking it and choose Favorite Folders.

As for Outlook 2007; I still hope they create a separate RSS Navigation...
