I notice when clean installing Vista RC1on a hard drive , it installs some
files to any other hard drive you may have on your computer. I have four (4)
physical hard drives on my system. Is it possible to Hide hard drive 2,3,and
4 when installing Vista to hard drive 1? And then after vista is installed on
hard drive 1make hard drives 2,3 and 4 available (unhidden)? If so, how would
this be done?

no files other than restore and recycle that I have ever heard of.
unless installing to other than primary boot drive then boot info in placed on primary boot drive.

all MS OS do this.

but if you really feel the need to turn them off, do it in the bios.
before setting them to uninstalled, be sure and write down the setting for each drive so you can set it back afterward.

remember when you boot from the DVD vista auto steals the "C" drive designation.

Any one of a number of third-party boot-managers can do this. Use your
favourite search engine to find one to your liking.

Just unplug the power lead from each drive you want to hide - quick and
dirty tip, but its very simple and works.
