Hiding Detail section based on group heading criteria

I have a report that groups & sums data first on Category, then by Status.
The Detail section contains multiple text boxes to display the detail records.

For most Status criteria I want the report to display the detail, however,
IF the status is "CurrBudget" I want it to hide the detail, BUT still show
the total of the detail records in the Satus Group Footer.

I've been playing around with using something like:
me.detail.visible <> me.status = "CurrBudget"
however, this is returning an error "Can't find field 'status'" when used in
anything but the Status Group Footer.
However, when used there it doesn't hide the Detail section.

Any help greatly appreciated.
