'Hiding' controls on continuous form

Hi,

what I would like to do is selectively hide or make invisible certain
controls on a continuous form, i.e on one detail line the control would be
visible but not visible on another detail line (dependant on the value of
another permanently visible control. I am talking here about the whole
control, not just its contents.

Ideas, suggestions would be welcome from anyone.

this is a pretty common question, and so I'm sure your search will turn up
many previous threads from this newsgroup that will be very helpful to you.
In general, I think you will be amazed at the wealth of info available this
way. I'm not trying to discourage you from asking questions here, just
wanting to make you aware of this resource, which is a good place to go
before posting a question.

You can't selectively hide a 'whole' control on a continuous form by
using it's visible property as you have suggested.
If you have Access 2000 or newer, you can use conditional formatting
to make the forecolor of the control the same as it's backcolor, which
would effectively hide the data in that field in that record.
 
Thanks for suggestion Fred, I already thought of this but, as I stated, I
want to 'hide' the whole control not just its data and not necessarily using
the visible property - any way of completely hiding the control dependant on
another field would be acceptable.
