Hide system tray....

How do I completely hide _all_ program icons and
notifications in the Win2Kpro system tray (except for
clock)?

This has to be done in Win2Kpro, not setup options for the
individual programs. I don't want to close the programs
and some programs do not give me the option to not display
their system tray icons.

I can do this on my XP machine at home; it allows
selective hiding of systray icons based on user-specified
criteria. I can't figure out how to do this on my Win2Kpro
machine.

Any help is appreciated.

Yes it is. It's especially good to use on April Fool's Day, if your country
celebrates that.
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\shell

This can also be used in good ways in addition to practical jokes. I
experience that "explorer continously crashes" issue after install an SP on
one of my servers, and it was getting my goat, so I switched my shell to
progman.exe and navigated around to do what I had to do until I fixed the
issue.

Also, I've run cmd.exe as my shell before on some test machines that I just
used for batch tests and things and didn't ever need to bother with a GUI.
