Dear All

I am using Windows 2000 Advanced Server. I want to hide
some folders/files from some users(I mean to say, I dont
want to share some folders/files from some users), users
can see only those folders/files, on which they have the
rights to access. How can I do this.

In Network Places, you can not hide shares selectively. If you publish shares
in Active Directory however, you have the ability to deny read to the share for
users/groups. --- Steve

Sumit,
There is a solution, abeit 3rd party...

It's a product called "Cloak" made by ScriptLogic.

Simply put, Cloak provides increased security on NTFS volumes by adding
"Out of sight - out of mind" filtering to the Windows file
system. Once Cloak is installed on your Windows Servers, users will
only see the files and/or folders that they have permission to access.
I believe this is what you're looking for ;)
