Hi,

I hvae a user that has put together a nifty little Powerpoint file that
includes various charts etc. The data that drives the charts is entered
into an embeddded table (not linked to Excel workbook). He wants to
distribute this file to users outside our organisation via email but doesn't
want them to be able to read the tables that contain the charts' source
data. Is this possible? The only thing we can think of is to get the thing
coverted to PDF but that the freeware that we have tried doesn't allow all
17 pages to be exported. That said, is this really not possible in
Powerpoint?

TIA,

Jarryd

OK, that works... but how hard is it to crack? I was hoping there was a way
to remove underlying data, say by converting the charts to images, for
example.

If not, then I need to know that is is super super hard for someone to crack
the password or circumvent the security all together.

TIA,

Jarryd

You can cut and 'paste special' to convert the charts to images.

The password allows the "owner" to modify the charts but it's not super
secure. Expert users will know ways of getting around it but the average user
won't be able to.
