Well not "ALL" unused cells

What I want is for the worksheet to look like a "sheet of paper" on the
screen,
and hide anything outside of the 8.5 x 11 Boundaries.

Is there any way to do this easily?
(I have been scrolling for a lifetime, trying to select all 65,536 rows so I
can hide them)

Thank you.

You real solution I expect is not how to hide rows and columns
but to fix a last cell problem.

Check where Ctrl+U takes you, it that is way past your data then
you have a lastcell problem.

Take a look at
Lastcell, Reset Last Used Cell
http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/lastcell.htm#ResetAllLastCells
http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/lastcell.htm#FixLastCell

I hesitate to mention this because it is not a fix:
File, Print Area, Set/Clear Print Area

There is also File, Page Setup, General, Fit to xx pages wide
and/or yy Pages wide which is fine if your data fits on a readable page.

And just in case you're trying to hide those unused cells srtictly for
display purposes, try this:

Select the *entire column* PAST the last column that you want displayed,
then,
<Ctrl> <Shift> <RightArrow>,
Which should select all the columns out to column IV.
Right click in the selection and choose "Hide".

Now, do the same thing with the rows, using the <DownArrow>,
Which should take you to row 65536.

After you hide the rows, you should have your "Sheet of Paper", with grey
borders, to the right, and at the bottom.
