hidden temp internet files not deleting

When I right click>properties on the temporary internet files folder the
properties display says it says it contains 6000+ files at a size of 33MB.
But I have cleaned my temporary files through disk clean and there are no
visible files in the folder. Why arent these files being deleted when I disk
clean?

Was the browser open when you cleared the TIF files? Close it. Then clear
the TIF. Use Control Panel> Internet Options or if using the XP start menu,
right click on IE in the first panel and choose Internet Properties. When
finished, check the folders again.
