Why are the registry definitions of all of the users hidden? (except for the
current user)
I'm a member of administrators and i need to change some thing on a user
account throught the registry. The problem is that i know the SID of the
account but i can't find it on HK_users. And this just happened a from a
couple of days ago (maybe some update chaged this).

David,

As I know users registry keys are only loaded into registry when the user
is logged. But you can load this key, what is a file located on the user
profile (..\Documents and Settings\<username>\NTUSER.DAT), and edit it.

To edit this key you use regedit, click on one of these hives
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE or HKEY_USERS, than click on File > Load Hive, select the
user registry file.

After you do your changes you have to unload the registry hive, or when the
user logon he will receive a error message and loose his registry
configurations, because the file will be in use.

Regards,

Khalil
