Hidden folders and files

Im using windws xp home edition.
I right clicked on a folder and went to Properties then I
clicked Hidden(it was on read-only) and then the folder
disappeared. Now i dont know where it is. And i dont
know the 'place' where they store those hidden files.
Can someone tell me where and how to get there? Thank
you very much.

Folder Options> View. Mark the choice to view hidden files and folders.
