Fred

My virus checker just found a trojan (TROJ_SMALL.M) and
listed the location as C:\System Volume
Information\_restore{xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.exe
It says that it can't clean it so I wanted to try to remove
it myself.
I can't find C:\System Volume Information to try to get rid
of it. I don't know if this is because it is a hidden file
or not because I can't figure out how to show my hidden files.
I'm using a Dell Inspiron 5150 running Windows XP.
Thank you in advance.

The virus has infected your System Restore folder.
You'll need to turn-off System Restore, reboot, then turn it back on.
One cannot delete an individual Restore Point....it's all or nothing.

You can keep the last restore point through Disk Cleanup button->More
Options Tab->System Restore section.

And in theory, remove virus, create restore point, remove all but last.
