Saving word docs to desktop results in hidden icons in Word 2007. How to get
word doc icons to show?
 
Whenever you work in a Word document, hidden temporary files are created in
the working folder. The desktop is simply a folder. You can choose to
display (or not) hidden files from the file explorer of your operating
system.
