Hidden Comments

The two options for Comments are Show and Hide. Show shows them all the
time. When I choose Hide it truly hides them; rollover or clicking on the
cell won't show my Comments at all! I'd like to get the rollover option to
work again; what did I do to mess this up and how do I fix it?

With XL2003 go to Tools>Options>View Tab. In the Comments section, select
Comment Indicator only.

Hi,

What version of Excel are you using? In 2003 and later there are 3 options
for comments, the third being indicator(show on hover).

I'm not sure about earlier versions of Excel

introduces the fewest assumptions while still sufficiently answering the

Sorry, I forgot to say I'm using MS Office 2007.

Although 2007 doesn't have a "Tools" option, you did give me the hint I
needed, John. I went to the Microsoft Office Button, chose Excel Options at
the bottom, then Advanced, scrolled down to the Display section, and, as you
said, under "For cells with comments, show:" and I clicked "Indicators only,
and comments on hover."

So here's the solution in case someone else searches the subject. Thanks
for the inspiration, John!
