Hidden Child Windows Hanging the Windows XP desktop

I am constantly encountering situations in Windows XP
where a [Yes/No] child error window is generated by a
running application but is hidden behind other windows
and cannot be acknowledged, thus suspending permanently
all operation on the parent window.
When that parent windows is clicked on, the Windows
XP 'gong' error sound effect is generated.

A tangent on this problem is when one invokes Adobe
Reader for a .PDF file for the first time on the Windows
XP desktop; this will often result in a Adobe Reader
[Yes/No] window being thrown up which often is hidden
behind the main Adobe parent window.
When this happens, there is no way to continue running
Adobe Reader and it appears that Adobe Reader is Hung,
when in fact this appears to be a Windows XP Desktop bug.

As a basic method to circumvent this problem, I would
suggest that the Windows XP Task Manager either include
all Child Windows in its Applications tab or add a new
tab called All_Windows which simply displays all windows
on the desktop and allows the user to Switch To and/or
End any Parent or Child window on the Windows desktop.

It is amazing that Adobe has not demanded that this Bug
be fixed a long time ago; this has been a problem with
the Windows interface to Adobe Reader for several years,
with previous version of Windows. I encounter this
everywhere with Windows and Adobe Reader, even in the
library. This problem needs to be fixed as soon as
possible.

And what ?

I suspect he meant "and what is your question?" I occasionally see the same
problem you're talking about it it is indeed frustating.

You probably want to file a bug report with Microsoft. I don't know where
you do that, but probably buried somewhere on their web site.
