I ran this little prog called 'Rootkitrevealer' and it shows files
hidden from the Windows API. I noticed every partition has a 64mb
Logfile. What the hell does Microsoft hide in there?

You can get the prog from www.sysinternals.com if you don't have it
and are interested. It's main use is to find hidden hijackers etc.

That's where Microsoft hides all the personal information it collects
from you, like your bank account numbers, social security number,
passwords, etc. It secretly transmits this information back to MS
using a hidden TCP/IP connection.

Or maybe it contains a list of pending transactions for the associated
volume, so the volume can be put back into a consistent state after a
system failure.

I always wondered what was in all the .CHK files on my fat32 systems
;-)

Uh-yea, I really fell for that one - NOT.

p.s. On that website it says;
" Log file size depends on the volume size and can be as large as
4MB."
On mine they all show as 64mb on each partition, same with a friends
computer, this being on XP.
