Hi All,

My laptop is taking more than 10 minute for Hibernation. Please let me know how can I reduce it.

Thanks in adavance.

Hareesh

Is that more than 10 mins to go into or to resume from hibernation?

It Takes more than 10 mins to get into Hibernation, but resume is fast as normal. This started after I install new drivers for video, network card and wireless and quick set, which I downloaded from Dell site.

I am using Dell D 410 laptop.

Does your problem still occur after the following? :
Resume the Hibernation.
Switch off your laptop. (Shut down)
Power up.
Defrag your hard drive.
Reboot.
Test Hibernation again.

What is the free storage capacity on your BOOT partition?

Thanks.

Hi,

I already done the same. I am having 110 GB free hard disk space in my C drive which is the boot partition.

Thanks,

Hareesh

you've 110 GB free?

what size is your RAM ? have a look in power options from control panel and hibernation tab and see what it says as 'required space for hibernation'. This should normally be your RAM size - so if you've got 3gb of ram hibernation takes longer than 512 mb.

Other than that to speed it up make sure your defraged your HD fully, and when going into Hibernation try to make sure that I/O operations are at a minimium. SO disconnet from internet, remove usb attachments etc. So the system is already stable.

other than that, live with it ;-)
