Can I use hibernation in stead of shuting down my
notebook or you prefere proper shut down!? And if I do so
for a while will it affect any of software or is it safe?
couse so fare I use it only if my batery go low and after
hibernation windows work properly! Thanks!

Hi there,

I use hibernation quite often when I'm moving my laptop
from work to home or if it's only going to be off for an
hour or two.

Hibernation hasn't affected any software that I use,
although most of the stuff that I have is pretty
mainstream, Office, Norton Internet Security, Winamp,
etc. I always save all of my files every 5 minutes, and
the files remain as they were right after hibernation.

One more advantage of hibernation is that unless you have
1 GB of RAM or more, then hibernation is faster to "wake
up" and uses less batteries than a normal start up does.

All in all, go for it! Just make sure that you do the
usual reboot every so often.

Hope this helps,

Nick
