Hibernation won't wake - just get blank screen

Hi

This began to happen prior to the major windows update recently, so it's not
that. I have installed Traktor Pro (all licensed software), which is a
digital djing package. I'd rather not unistall that, as I'll lose a fair
amount of work.

Does anyone know why the laptop won't wake properly anymore? I either shut
the lid or hibernate from the start menu, and I get the same. The only
solution is to keep my finger on the off switch and reboot, which is doing my
laptop no good. Obviously I can stop using hibernate, but I'd rather get this
sorted.

Appreciate any help

What Service Pack level is XP?

Have you checked your power settings? Possibly the new software changed
something there.
