The function of hibernation or standby was normal initial when I upgrade to
vista. However, the function gone, may due to video drivers (Nvidia GeForce
7400) duplicate installed??
The version of video driver in vista was 7.14 and the lastest version is
7.15, both coundn't run hibernation well.
I can't enable hibernation under a command session run cmd and when prompt
appears type powercfg hibernate on.
The error message showed
Hibernation failed with the following error: The request is not supported.
The following items are preventing hibernation on this system.
There are one or more legacy drivers installed:
CGS DFT Driver

Zino,

Try uninstalling all Nvidia drivers, believe in Control Panel > Add/Remove
Programs. At this point, you may like to check the hibernate/sleep function.
Then, following Nvidia's installation instructions, reinstall the drivers.

You also might want to check the power settings in Control Panel > Hardware
and Sound > Power Options. Make sure the options you want are set properly.

The hibernation function can't enable after remove the Nvidia driver. The
error message in powercfg /hibernation on still showed:
There are one or more legacy drivers installed: CGS DFT Driver
I think the nvidia driver in vista, that i might had modified the
nv_disp.inf file, still mismatch with vista.

Zino,

It's hard knowing exactly what the problem is. If you think nVidia driver
remnants could be causing the problem, you can use a product called Driver
Cleaner. Driver Cleaner will remove all vestiges of drivers, including any
left behind by conventional removal methods. Driver Cleaner is a free
download. Use google to locate a download site. The latest version is
compatible with Vista.
