Hibernate - stop wake up

Hi, My laptop comes out of hibernate while sitting in its bag. How
can I prevent this or discover what is causing this. My BIOS doesn't
have settings for "wakeup" rules. I have a HP8000 running Win XP pro.

TIA

The machine is powered off during hibernation, so unless the BIOS has a
wake-up facility, it shouldn't be able to power up by itself.

It normally requires a push of the power button to come out of
hibernation. My guess is that either something in your bag is pressing
yor power button, or you have an intermittent short that caused power
to come on.

Thanks all for the suggestions.

The computer is 6 months old. The function used to work. (stayed off
in hibernate) No keys are getting pressed as the laptop is closed and
the same thing happens when it is sitting on a table.

According to MSoft - software/hardware could cause the problem? I've
loaded Acronis True Image and Replay Radio recently but can't see why
the machine won't stay in hibernate. Anyone else have a similar
problem?
