I'm using Windows XP Pro and recently installed another hard drive .
Now whenever I hibernate the computer doesn't resume and just a blank screen
greets me everytime,

I've to reset every time and then press F8 and choose delete the restoration
data to restart windows again.

Would be glad for any help with this.

"Other hd" as in storage hd..Either way, usually when another hd is installed
other than C: The BIOS sets it as 1st priority hd,putting C: 2nd.Maybe chk
the BIOS settings. Also,in xp,go to run, type:diskmgmt.msc Locate the new
hd,L.click on it,go to actions, all, chk the box "make active" if it
available.You
should also set it as a page file in system properties.

Just as a matter of interest, I had problems with standby and hibernate
recently. It was working and then suddenly stopped working and all I got was
a blank screen when I tried to get it out of standby or hibernation.

Recently I updated the keyboard and keyboard drivers and now it's working
perfectly again.

How much memory? How large is the pagefile and where is it located? How
much free disk space on the internal hard drive?

Hope this helps.

"The BIOS sets it as 1st priority hd,putting C: 2nd" What is your basis
for this statement?

"You should also set it as a page file in system properties." What is
your basis for this advice?
