Just log into WinXP Pro from Hibernate, the AV(MacAfee) can't load and
says it is corrupted. The Taskbar icons are weird and can't find the
speaker icon. The whole desktop is frozen. Can't load IE. Need to
restart. Then everything goes well. But don't like shut down. Need
fast log on by hibernate. Any help for that?
Thanks a bunch

Do you have this problem when McAfee is not installed? If no, it is their
issue and you need to contact them.

Same question, same problem. Do you have these issues when McAfee is not
installed?

I installed MacAfee a long time ago. Hardly remeber that i had no
problem. But do not think the issue now concerns taskbar icons .
Forget MacAfee . What can be wrong with Win XP Pro and icons after
hibernating. why do they all come ok when i use restart?

Thanks

I don't think you can forget McAfee. It is reporting after every resume
from hibernation that it is corrupt. That's not a good thing and could also
be the source of the other problems.

To eliminate it, Michael has asked if the problem still exists if McAfee is
not in the picture. A fair question under the circumstances and something
that you should probably try.

Sorry, can't do that. By your very first post on the subject, it says
McAfee is corrupted. Until you remove it, you have no way of knowing it's
not the source of the issue. McAfee causes a lot of problems and your
system is already specifying it as an issue. These problems are often
solved by process of elimination and until we eliminate McAfee, we can't be
sure it's not the issue.

In the time you've spent responding and opining it is not the issue, you
could have removed it and at the very least ruled it out.

Also, are you sure you have the latest version of McAfee.

Here's an application that works at the very core of the operating system,
the system is reporting it is corrupted, it is the first issue you need to
address. Other than that, we could be running around in circles trying one
thing after another that doesn't work because McAfee is getting in the way.
