Hi

I am getting the following msg:

"The unknown usb device is a hi-speed use device and will function at
reduced speed when plugged into a non-hi-speed port. The hubs shown in bold
type have free ports than can support the hi-speed usb device" Then there
is a list of items shown. "Recommendation: disconnect the unknown usb device
from its current port and then connect it to one of the ports on a hub shown
in bold type".

First I unplugged the usb hub and plugged it into the 2nd usb port on the
laptop. Then I tried unplugging my keyboard from the usb hub and plugging
that into the laptop. Would that be correct thing to do? I do not know
what the msg is refering to specificaly and the list of items within the
msg, do not make sense.

Thank you

It is telling you that you need a USB 2.0 port in order to get the full
benefit of your USB 2.0 capable device.

Is it telling me my laptop port is not USB 2.0 or my USB Hub? I know that
my Hub is 2.0. I thought my laptop was 2.0 as well. How do I double check
this?

Thanks

Open up the USB tree in device manager & if it has the word "enhanced" in
the description, then it IS a 2.0 port.

Similar problem with a laptop. If enhanced does not appear is all lost or
can one upgrade the controller?
