I delete my offline temporary internet files daily because it really
seems to make a difference in the performance of my PC. My brother says
that needing to do it every day is kind of strange and that the
deletion process takes way too long, especially because I delete them
every day.

So far I've looked in Windows Help and Microsoft online to try and find
some information about whether the need to delete so often and the
length of time it takes are related. I can't find anything.

Has anyone else had this experience or know what I can do to resolve
the situation?

Thanks,

ocurlygirl (my eBay name)

By "very slow" what do you mean? 10 seconds? One minute? Half an hour?
You don't need to delete those files on a daily basis. Once a week is
plenty. The more files there are to delete, the longer it will take to
delete them.

This can be true if you open an awful lot of mail in Outlook Express.
Another thing that can help is go to Tools | Internet Options and click
Settings in the Temporary Internet Files section. Set the size to 50 MB.
