I'm assuming you are using Windows Explorer....Hold the Ctrl key and
then left click on the files or folders to select, Ctrl+left click a
second time to de-select. To select a group, left click the first in a
line, hold the shift key and left click the last in line.

How can I hi lite files and folders and skip those I don't want?
Thank you, Don

If you mean you want to select a group of files and then de-select only a
few. Select all of the files and then hold down the CTRL key and click the
files you wish to de-select.

Well, you could use the help already included in Windows:

- Start -> Help and Support.
- Search on "select multiple files".
