Garrett

Just thought I'd drop in on ACF to see how things were. I see Genna is
having a rough time as of late here and thought I'd say hi to Genna...

Hi Genna! :-)

And hi to the rest of the ACF Gang. John F. and all the other OG's of
ACF.. ;-)

Best regards,

Didn't another post concerning Genna mention how it was bringing all the
"old posters" out?
That's pretty funny.

Garrett! It's good to hear from you again. Are you still involved in
any freeware site?

I hope life's been treating you well.

Hi Garrett.

Looks like we finally got a good browser "alternative" too.
Firefox. :-)

Hope things are well with you.

Regards, John.

Well, it wasn't really due to that thread that I happened by here. I
just happen to be taking a break from things and thought I'd check in
here.. It has been a few years since I had been here and like most
others here, I just could no longer stay away. :-)

I did of course read that thread and being an OG of ACF, I know Genna.
I had worked with her when PLW was started, so I thought it'd be nice
If I said howdy to her. I'm not taking any sides in whatever is going
on. I do not even know who the other person. So I've got nothing to
say on that subject. If I knew the other person, I would've said
howdy to that person also.

Best regards,
-Garrett

Not really. Just my own personal site. And not much there really to
brag about, so I don't even mention it.

Just been spending my time programming stuff for myself. But I am
finally working on some programs to send out as freeware.

Basically just trying to keep out of trouble here. :-) I might check
in here more often if I be of any help. But I'm not as much into the
freeware loop as I was before. These days I only check a few sites to
see what's new.

Best regards,
-Garrett

Yes! I've been using it too! I love it! And I also use Thunderbird
for the email.

Would you believe I am still trying to get that browser made!? I
finally found all the stuff for it again, but now I don't have another
programmer to help me build the dll I need for it :-(

I should probably just give up on it and just stick with FireFox. ;-)

Best regards,
-Garrett

Yeah, I'm kinda getting to that point myself (checking only a few
sites.) Also, I've taken down my version of the FAQ and no longer care
very much about defending the definition of freeware.

Discovered (should have been obvious) that a source of spam that's
worse than posting to usenet unmunged is having a website address that
contains one's user ID and ISP's domain. DUH! So I took down all of my
sites and changed my user ID.

Garrett, I miss your input in this group. You were always a very
valued member.

Do you still have contact with the people now running Freeware Home? I
think they're doing a pretty good job.

Garrett appears bright, is funny, contributes to acf, is skillful....

TROLL.

Especially if your definition is/was as extreme as mine was. I'm
still strict in my concept of what freeware is, but like you, I no
longer even bother.

Eeeeeeehhhhh..... Maybe once in a while, but I'm not going to go at
it like before.

Once in a great while I drop a note to see how they're doing. The
site never really fully recovered from the eFront fiasco. The site
continues to barely operate above the red line. :-(

And i've seen a lot of the freeware sites come and go since then also.
Some I thought would never die off, but they're gone now.

Best regards,
-Garrett

TROLL.

Wow! Ummmm.... Well, I guess things have changed since I was gone.
Now I'm considered a Troll when I haven't done anything wrong at all.
I just came back, said hello to someone else, replied to a few
responses to my post and now I'm a Troll...

To what did I gain this honor?

You know what, never mind.

Best regards,

I understand.
Thanks for taking the time to clear that up, though. :)

Don't worry Garrett. Cruising Chrissy and I were having an argument
and (s)he was trying to make a point.

As far as I'm concerned it's spilt milk.

You meet The Corliss Standard For Troll Identification. Ask him.
