who's the dumb arse you got working for you who move the tool bar from the bottom of my mobile screen, to the top ... my thumb in't long enough to use it.

you iD10ts are getting real good at alienating your software beyond practical use.

... and for the love of Pete's, get rid of that bloody white space.

it's my smartie phone, it's an android ... has a Google mind of it's own.

we will assimilate

:fool:Oops sorry, I never think of smart phones, I have a mobile which she who must be obeyed makes me carry when I go dog walking on the downs( I never know whether it is charged or not) we never had them always carried 4p in case of emergency for the telephone box. All this instant communication rubbish. Baah Humbug.

Using Chrome?

err, it's Google mail ... they change how it looks on my smartie, and it's bloody awful ... why shift the "tools" from the bottom to the top I'll never know ... :(

Ha. I can see, BN, that we must be of a similar age.

I too have a mobile but only use it very occasionally. And, guess what? It is simply a phone. No camera in it, no fancy applications, no internet access.

And, unlike all the youngsters, it is not welded to my body and nor does it need checking every 10 minutes. I am able to go to the pub or have a meal without having to sit, rudely in my opinion, ignoring everyone else whilst reading or writing a text.

I can never understand what is so important that a text has to be answered immediately one is received. Surely, not everyone is on some life and death mission all day and every day.

Rant over. :D I spent my life answering phones and now I just long to be away from them. :D

Heehee... raises nose above the parapet to admit that, similar to Bootneck and Niv, OH and I both own only bog-standard mobile PAYG phones too. :o

They're small and slim, so easy to tote around... but we never use them for chatting, they're purely a convenience... a form of 'emergency' communication.

We ensure they're charged-up, and periodically, we make a call from one or other, just to ensure that Orange don't cut us off for non-use (which they have done a couple of times. Usually, reinstatement has been pretty easy, but it's a bit of a nuisance to find that it's happened.)
:D

The new Gmail app on my Samsung S3 sucks like electrolux. I have tonnes of messages I want to delete, but haven't a Danny how to delete them since the app upgrade. Why fix things that aint broke ?

Ah the new Gmail app. Its great! I dont see the problem. :)

I did turn off a few things, the contact images for a start. There is a few settings that need changing from default, after that its fine.

ED: Just swipe to the right to delete.

Also if your viewing the message just hit the bin icon at the top to delete. :)

EDIT: in the settings i changed....

knew I should have gotten a Blackberry in the first place, wonder if Google are gonna get a solicitors letter?

OK, let me clear a couple of points ...

I don't 'text' if someone texts me, I phone them.
I use the 'phone' as a phone
I don't 'browse' the internet, I use my 24" PC screen for that, not the piddly little thing on me phone.

I DO like the camera, I take pics, it's a pretty good one on the S2
I DO find the convenience of the 'apps' that I use bloody great. As a for instance, I went to Liverpool, just down the road from Southport, I get free travel as I'm 'old', and I used the map-app to find a local Starbucks as well as the SB app on the phone to get me a drink.

No, what I find bloody annoying is the move of the 'tool-bar' to the top of the screen ... you now need two hands to operate your mail ... makes driving down the motorway a bit of a bummer with no hand on the wheel.

cartoony ... he got that right.

so if you enable on the web ...

yeah, right, I know where the web is ... there be no 'enable/disable' key ... Google is a bit like the "any" key, they just do anything they like.

:fool:

so, how does one get the 3 vertical dots at the top of his screen ??

I only get that if I highlight one or more messages.

ah, you got to touch the cartoon icon ...

old dog, new tricks ... is gonna take a wee bit longer to do what I could do in two clicks.

Turn the contact images off, they make it look crap! lol
