I am running Windows XP version 2002 W/ SP1. My system
is a P4 1.6 GHz W/ 512 MB of ram.

When I am in explorer and I select a folder, it takes 5
to 10 seconds, sometimes longer to display the contents.
Other people in my office are having the same problem.
Is there anything that I can do to speed the delay
display?

I think I know what's wrong, since it's happening to
everyone in your office. Your office probably has you all
working off of individual partitions on the server, which
means everyone's files are stored on the server, and if
there is heavy amounts of traffic going over the LAN,
then it will take longer to get files to/from the server
and your workstation. If that's not it, try a Disk Defrag.
