New Guy

I have 3 machines hooked up via a hub? router.

The 1st one sees the other two O.K.

The 2nd one sees the 1st one above not the 3rd.

The 3rd one sees the 1st also but not the 2nd.

What is my problem?

The 1st and 2nd are running XP, the 3rd runs 98SE.

Thanks!

p.s. All 3 are able to connect to the internet and function O.K. as stand
alones.

Sounds just like my home network, several months ago. My problem was a VPN
firewall I was using.

Try bringing up the 3 computers in Safe Mode with Networking. If you can
ping each other, then it's probably some firewall program. Use msconfig (at
the Start Menu|Run line) to turn of all the services and startup items to
figure out what it is.

make sure that you force the 98 machine to login via a username and
password. next create accounts for this username and password in the two XP
machines....

Mine too, but it was not an OS firewall, but a Virus
software firewall built into PCCillin that was killing
connections until configured to allow that internal LAN
IP range.
