What is it you´ve lost? Is your entire disk whiped clean, are just your
e-mails and/or documents gone?
Do you have Anti virus software and a firewall installed? Did you ever scan
you pc for Spyware, using AdAware or Spybot? (If not, be advised to do so in
future).
It could be a virus.
- First check you waste bin. Perhaps you´ll find lost items there.
- second, download a free file recoverytool here. http://www.webattack.com/get/restoration.shtml Save it to a floppy disk and
install it there. Run it from floppy and search for deleted files on your
hard drive. (They are probably still on your disc. Only the reference to
that files is gone).
- Once you managed to save restored files to disc or CD, run an online
