SOMEHOW I HAVE GOTTEN NOTEPAD POPPING UP ON MY SCREEN.
UNTITLED NOTEPAD. I HAVE TRIED PROPERTIES, DELETING, AND
RECYCLE BIN IT KEEPS POPPING UP. ALSO HOW TO BACK UP FILES.
I HAVE A LAPTOP COMPAQ PRESARIO 1700. I DID RECEIVE A
FUTURE BAY DRIVE THAT I HAVEN'T TRIED TO INSTALL, THIS
WOULD USE 31/2DISK THAT I COULD DOWNLOAD TO. BUT IF I
EXCHANGE DRIVES WON'T ALL MY FILES BE ON THE DRIVE I
REMOVE. AS YOU CAN TELL I STILL VERY NEW TO THIS.

Please don't use All caps when posting. It's cosidered rude and
difficult to read.

Also, Gicve people time to respond. You are lucky if you get a response
within 2 hours. Most of us read more then one newsgroup and only read
them once a day as we have time.

Check your Startup folder for a shortcut to Notepad. If it's there.
Remove it. Also, Go to START>Run..type MSCONFIG hiut <Enter> then goto
the Startup Tab and check to see if Notepad is there. If so, uncheck it.

For backups. You really want a a CD burner ( Or, DVD burner is better
), a Ecternal USB Hard drive, or a tap back up device. Backinbg up to
Floppy would take forever and hundreds, if not thousands of disk.
