I need to be able to accept cookies and popups at web
sites necessary for my job. Since i had my laptop
reformated I started out being able to manuver in these
sites by the last couple days I have not. Does anyone
have any suggestions of further things I can do to fix
this? PLEASE HELP!! I am desperate. Note: See earlier
question subject "Problem with accepting cookies & popups"

Thanks for your help,
Connie

Hi Connie,

Add those site domains to your trusted sites, and set up
a rule to accept all cookies from those domains also.

These changes are made in Control Panel / Internet Options.
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
To add a domain to your Trusted Sites:
. Click the Security Tab then click on Trusted Sites,
. Click the Default Level button, Click the Sites... button,
. Uncheck the Require server verification (https:) choice,
. Type: msn.com (using these sites as examples) click Add,
. Type: passport.net click Add,
. Type: passport.com click Add, and then click OK.

Too add domains to your acceptable Cookie List:
. Click on the Privacy Tab then the Edit.. button,
. Type: passport.com in the box and click Allow,
. Type: passport.net in the box and click Allow,
. Type msn.com in the box and click Allow and Click OK.
If you still see a red cicle with a white line through it in the status
bar of your Internet Explorer browser when you visit your sites,
double click that symbol, double click the blocked entry, and
then select the option to"allways allow" it (starts on next visit).

Thanks for the advice. But, it didn't work. I have
changed all my settings in the control panel to as low as
they will go and I can't manuveur in these sites. One has
to allow popups and the other I'm guessing it's cookies.
Before I had it formatted xp pro aside from being so slow
at least allowed me to do what I needed on these sites.
I'm stumped. Please help.

Hi Connie,

Did you lower the settings, or did you add the domains
to your trusted sites, and allow cookies list? There's a
difference between the two that could make a difference.

Make sure you aren't running any firewall / antivirus or
ad blocking software that's causing this issue. You may
also search for the file named: HOSTS and rename it to
OLDHOSTS to see if the domains are blocked.
